SAKA NATIONALS 2026 APPROACH
CTKA – April 6, 2026
The Road to the Podium: 2026 National Championships
The quiet of the Klein Karoo is about to be shattered. This April, the historic town of Oudtshoorn, Western Cape, transforms into the epicenter of South African combat sports as it plays host to the
National Kickboxing Championships.
This isn’t just a weekend tournament; it is a four-day gauntlet of endurance, strategy, and raw power. Over the course of 96 hours, the mats will witness a relentless schedule of bouts as the nation’s elite converge to decide who truly owns the title of “National Champion.”
A Battlefield of Five Hundred
The scale of this year’s event is staggering. More than 500 fighters from every corner of the country have qualified to compete. From the bustling gyms of Gauteng to the coastal powerhouses of the KZN and the Cape, the very best have answered the call.
In a bracket this deep, there are no “easy” fights. Every athlete in the draw has earned their place through blood and sweat, meaning our CTKA & WCPKA squad will be facing the most high-pressure environment of their careers. To stand atop the podium in Oudtshoorn is to prove you are the best among hundreds.
The Four-Day Gauntlet
The length of this event adds a grueling layer of complexity:
- Physical Preservation: Athletes must manage their energy and recovery over four intense days.
- Mental Fortitude: Maintaining focus from the opening ceremonies to the final championship rounds requires a professional mindset.
- Weight Management: Discipline is tested daily as fighters must remain “on weight” and “in the zone” throughout the duration of the event.
Defending the Province on Home Soil
While fighters are traveling from across South Africa, the Western Cape is our backyard. There is a profoundweight to competing in your home province. We expect the CTKA & WCPKA colours to be defended with a specific brand of ferocity—a demonstration of the standard we uphold here.
“Five hundred fighters enter, but only a handful will leave with the gold. In Oudtshoorn, we don’t just show up to participate; we show up to dominate.”
The CTKA Mission
We are sending a team that represents the heart of our organization. These men, women, and junior fighters have prepared for the heat of the Karoo and the intensity of the national stage. We invite all our supporters, families, and fellow martial artists to get behind our team as they embark on this four-day journey toward greatness.
To our fighters: The road to Nationals was long, but the path to the podium is even narrower. Stay sharp, stay hungry, and make every second of those four days count.
